Deb's Comings and Goings!

I am a busy mom to four wonderful kids and a great husband! Each day brings more adventure and challenges to keep me young. Friends are an important part of my life as well. And without God to help me through each day, I know I'd not make it! I am working part-time as an Administrative Assistant and love my job!

Surgery Next Week!!!

I went to the gynecologist's office today, after receiving the good news yesterday that I had not had a mini-stroke and was ok for surgery.  The gynecologist had me filling out paperwork to consent to surgery for a hysterectomy, and as I was completing it, I asked if he was going to book the surgery.  He looked at me weird, and said, "BOOK THE SURGERY???"  "It is booked for next Tuesday!"  I was rather surprised as he only got the ok yesterday!  He said that there was another lady that wants to go on a trip this fall, so he booked an extra day at the hospital so he could do my surgery at the same time as hers!

I am dreading it!  SOOOO scared!  Keep me in your prayers!  I have lots to do between now and then to ensure that things run smoothly while I am away!

Keep me in your prayers!

Leisurely Summer Days!

I was enjoying working in a busy office when my health took a bad turn, and I was forced to stay home while the doctors figure out what is happening with me! It's funny how God forces you to do what he wants when you are resisting! I am now able to be home with my girls for the summer, and my boys are enjoying a fun summer at the daycamp since I can't watch them right now. I am watching lots of fun videos, reading, staying in touch with friends more and learning to relax - which is a hard thing for someone who likes to be on the go all the time! Hubby has stepped up to the plate, and is out grocery shopping - believe it or not! My girls have learned that they can do dishes and wash and it won't kill them!!

I have been spending time each day reading my Bible and thanking God for his blessings in my life - even the blessing of illness. Friends have been there for me and my church has surrounded me with lots of kindness. Meals came every night for the first few weeks when I wasn't able to cook (and hubby's specialty of omelets and tuna sandwiches wore out pretty quick!!)

God is so good!
